\u201cExcept the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah\u201d (Isaiah 1:9).<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0How accurately the above scripture describes our world today! Homosexuality cuts a swathe through modern society like a raging forest fire devouring everything in its path.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Long regarded as a despicable subculture, homosexuality has in recent times made its way from the fringes of contemporary culture and is jostling for a place in mainstream society. It has even re-branded itself \u201cgay\u201d, in an effort to convey the positive flavour of the old word \u2018gay\u2019 which meant \u2018cheerful\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Homosexuality, which, of course, includes lesbianism, has now evolved into a global movement. In the name of civil rights, \u2018gay activists\u2019 seek acceptance and recognition for their deviant and abominable lifestyle. At the heart of the debate, however, is whether civil rights can be a refuge for any moral outrage! Be that as it may, the invocation of civil rights has proved to be most effective in winning significant victories for gays and lesbians in their quest for equal rights with heterosexual married couples.<\/p>\n

The floodgates of perversion have been opened. Sodomy is no longer a clandestine affair, practised in secrecy. Homosexuals and lesbians openly flaunt their lifestyle in what they shamelessly call \u2018gay pride parades!\u2019<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a sick world in which the abominable is promoted and the honourable denigrated (Isai. 5:20). The consequences can only be tragic. Once, when homosexuality took hold of a society (Sodom and Gomorrah), conflagration followed next (Gen. 19:1-25).<\/p>\n

But that seems to be of the least concern to today\u2019s sodomites. If anything, recent advances in \u2018gay rights\u2019, in especially the West, have emboldened gay activists elsewhere to also push for their rights.<\/p>\n

Now South Africa occupies the unenviable place in history as the first African country to give formal recognition to same-sex unions. As of writing, plans were far advanced for the South African parliament to approve a bill legalizing same-sex relationships. Media reports suggested that there had been tremendous pressure on the majority ANC members of parliament to vote in favour of \u201cthe Civil Unions Bill\u201d to ensure its successful passage (\u201cS. Africa to back gay weddings,\u201d Daily Graphic, p.5, Nov. 15, 2006).<\/p>\n

But by no means is South Africa the only African country having sodomites among its citizenry. A few months ago, Ghana woke up to the shocking news of a planned international gay conference to be held in the country. In a swift response, the government signalled its opposition to the conference, on the grounds that homosexuality was not only a crime under Ghanaian law, but also offended against Ghanaian culture.<\/p>\n

In a world that so easily gives in to evil, it was a major victory for godliness.<\/p>\n

But what\u2019s there to celebrate when homosexuality has already made its prized conquest? The Church\u2014and I emphasize the apostate Church\u2014has capitulated to sodomy, a sin so grievous God destroyed an entire society! Three years ago, the US Episcopal Church (of the world Anglican communion) gave its full blessings to same-sex unions when it appointed a Rev. Gene Robinson, a self-confessed homosexual, as the Bishop of New Hampshire in the United States. Despite condemnation from conservative Anglican bishops, notably those in Africa, the US Episcopal Church stood its ground, refusing to \u2018repent\u2019 (\u201cGay Bishop\u2019s appointment to affect church \u2013 Archbishop of Canterbury,\u201d Daily Graphic, p. 2, August 7, 2003).<\/p>\n

The homosexual lifestyle is on a global conquest, and apparently no place is a no-go area. If even the \u2018church\u2019 has been made to bow before its altar, then certainly no place is too sacred for homosexuality. Indeed, the ultimate in homosexual mischief has been reached!<\/p>\n

Of all the cities in the world, Jerusalem, the acclaimed \u2018holy city\u2019, has of late become one of the hottest venues for the so-called gay pride parades. The Jerusalem Post (online edition) reported that, in the face of intense opposition from anti-gay activists, the fifth annual Jerusalem gay pride parade (held Nov. 10, 2006) could not be stopped altogether. Instead, a compromise was reached in which the event was shifted to a different location and the planned march through the streets of Jerusalem dropped in favour of a rally (\u201cGay Pride event to be held at Hebrew U\u201d- Posted Nov. 9, 2006. \u201cI\u2019d send gays and lesbians to Sodom and Gomorrah\u201d- Posted Nov. 10, 2006. www.jpost.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

In all the controversy surrounding the Jerusalem gay pride parade, little noticed was the prophetic significance of the event. A landmark prophecy of the last days has been fulfilled! The appearance of sodomites in Jerusalem signifies that we have come very close to the end. End-time Bible prophecy reveals that in the very last days leading up to the coming of the antichrist (\u2018the beast\u2019) and the return of Christ, Jerusalem will be so defiled by the sodomites that \u201cthe great city where our Lord was crucified\u201d will spiritually be called \u201cSodom and Egypt\u201d (Rev. 11:1-8).<\/p>\n

The rise of sodomites in the holy city of Jerusalem and elsewhere, with their brazen clamour for legitimacy and recognition, is an ominous sign of the approach of doomsday!<\/p>\n

(Read Isai. 24:5-6).<\/p>\n

Steadfast in His principles, God still frowns on homosexuality and considers it an abomination. To those who believe that the \u2018sexuality\u2019 of homosexuals is determined by their genetic make-up (i.e. homosexuals are naturally born so), it\u2019s worth pointing out that God, the Creator, deplores homosexuality as an unnatural affection, symptomatic of a \u201creprobate mind\u201d (Rom. 1:26-28).<\/p>\n

Foretelling our times, He said many would consider themselves to be \u201cwise\u201d (or enlightened) in glamourizing sodomy and giving it a veneer of respectability and legitimacy, but in the end they would become \u201cfools\u201d as the unavoidable consequences of their vile passions (venereal diseases, \u00a0etc) kick in ahead of His righteous judgment (Rom. 1:22, 32).<\/p>\n

The days of Lot, when homosexuality was the \u2018alternative lifestyle\u2019 of so many in Sodom and Gomorrah, are back (Luke 17:28-29). Fire will fall again:<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201c\u2026 the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cIn flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ\u201d (2 Thess. 1:7-8).<\/p>\n

However, there is hope for the homosexual who has a genuine desire to repent. The Apostle Paul, writing to the Church in Corinth with reference to their past lives (which included homosexuality, rendered \u201cabusers of themselves with mankind\u201d in the KJV), rejoiced: \u201csuch were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God\u201d (1 Cor. 6:9-11).<\/p>\n

By the grace of God, together with commitment to the holy Word, each one of us can steer clear of the homosexual contagion and escape the conflagration to come.<\/p>\n

Homosexuality, more than perhaps any other sin, symbolizes rebellion of the highest order against God; it constitutes an outright rejection of the social model God ordained for man\u2014to reproduce and raise a family. (See Gen. 1:27-28). It\u2019s anti-life, anti-family, and anti-procreation. Little wonder that, of all mankind\u2019s numerous sins, it\u2019s usually the last straw that provokes the severest punishment from God!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
