But it also denotes one&#8217;s behavior &#8211; the way a person &#8216;walks in life\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The righteous are said to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">walk<\/span> uprightly in the integrity of their heart (Ps. 15:2; Isa. 33:15-17, Ps. 1:1-2). By contrast, the wicked are said to &#8220;walk after the imagination of their evil heart&#8221; Jer. 3:17, 7:24).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">As believers, we have been called to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">walk with God<\/span>, unlike in time past when we &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">walked<\/span> according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience&#8221; (Eph. 2:2).<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"background-image: none; background-attachment: scroll; background-color: white; margin-top: 10.5pt; text-align: justify; background-position: 0% 0%; background-repeat: repeat repeat;\"><span class=\"content\">The scriptures speak of Enoch, &#8220;the seventh from Adam&#8221;, thus: &#8220;And Enoch walked with God and he was not, for God took him&#8221;(Gen. 5:24).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">God desires a relationship with man. But for that relationship to be meaningful, we are obliged to live a righteous, holy life.\u00a0 John 1:5-7 proclaims:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"content\">The miracle God of all possibility is able to make us fruitful and forgetful of our difficult past in the very place and situation of our affliction! As He bore the punishment that brought us peace, His invitation to cast all our worries on Him is for real (Isa. 35:5; 1 Pet. 5:7).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ephraim and Manasseh are names that tell the story of Joseph\u2014the tragedy that befell him and his miraculous rise to wealth and power in Egypt, the very land of his affliction!<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">As believers, our affliction is for a moment; God will never fail to remember us (Isa. 54:7-8). He has assured us in His word that our \u201clight affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison\u201d (2 Cor. 4:17 NAS).<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sometimes God deliberately allows evil men to oppress and trouble us for a while, but He ultimately brings us to a \u201cwealthy place\u201d (Ps. 66:12). As believers, we will come up against the storms of life (trials and temptations), but all will work out for our good (Rom. 8:28).<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">What is extremely important in the time of trial is to be careful not to offend God because of the apparent delay in His deliverance. This was the test the children of Israel, freshly delivered from Egyptian bondage, failed at the \u201cwaters of Massah and Meribah\u201d (Ex. 17:1-17; Ps. 81:7). Instead of prayer, the people took up a compliant!<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMassah\u201d means \u2018trial, temptation, testing\u2019 and \u201cMeribah\u201d means \u2018contention\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">As we all know too well, a test is given in expectation of certain specific results from the examination candidate. How will he tackle the questions? How deep is his understanding of the subject? Will he give a yes or no answer? If\u00a0 a \u2018yes\u2019 answer, why? If a \u2018no\u2019 answer, why that too? It\u2019s a test of knowledge, even of the candidate\u2019s psychological preparedness and composure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">At \u2018Meribah\u2019 Israel failed to realize that the God Who brought them through the Red Sea could as easily provide them with water. So instead of trusting God, they began to mourn their possible death from thirst! The Israelites complained because they didn\u2019t see the water they desperately needed. What we don\u2019t see doesn\u2019t indicate what God is unable or even unwilling to do. Indeed, what the eye has not seen or imagined \u2018see-able\u2019 is what God has prepared for those who love Him (1 Cor. 2:9).<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">What we don\u2019t see (today) is the miracle that awaits us and for which we must trust God to do\u2014even above all that we think or ask (Eph. 3:20)! He is able to supply all our needs (things we don\u2019t have or see in our lives now) according to His riches in glory through Jesus Christ (Php. 4:19). If He can call things that don\u2019t exist to appear by miracle (Rom. 4:17), is it reasonable to despair? The scripture says, &#8220;Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame&#8221; (Rom. 10:11).<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">We should trust Him unto death: \u201cFor this God is our God for ever and ever: He will be our guide even unto death\u201d (Ps. 48:14).
