Induction service for New President
An induction service has been organized for the new President of the Association of 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies, Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr. The service was held on Saturday, 21st June, 2008 at the headquarters of the Church at Adiebeba in Kumasi.
In attendance were leaders of the various branches of the Church around the country. The large congregation also included members from far and near who had thronged the Adiebeba Assembly to witness the event and lend their support.
The service, which began at 10am, saw a representative group of church elders take turns to speak on the divine hand in the call and ministry of the late Apostle Enoch Ofori and in the choice of his successor, Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr.
Deacons Anthony Anane and John Kumi spoke on behalf of the Adiebeba HQ Assembly; Evangelist William Asante for the Assemblies in the Central Region; Deacon Sarfo Kantanka for the Assemblies in the Brong Ahafo Region; Dr Paul Ntiamoah for the Assemblies in Ashanti; and Deacon Yeboah-Frempong for the Assemblies in the Greater Accra, Volta and Western Regions.
The introduction of the new church president to the congregation and invited guests was greeted with shouts of joy and praises to God. It was a colourful scene with the congregation waving white handkerchiefs amid the singing of thanksgiving songs to the Highest.
Prayer for Divine strength and guidance for the new President was led by Pastor David Amoah with all the elders and ministers joining in.
In his acceptance speech, the new church president, Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr, gave sincere thanks to the Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ for the occasion. He then thanked all church elders and the entire membership of the Association of 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies for the confidence reposed in him.
Well-wishers and friends of the Church, who had in diverse ways been of assistance to the Church, were not left out; he expressed his appreciation to them all.
After paying glowing tribute to his predecessor and father, the late Apostle-Elder Enoch Ofori, Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr emphasized that as leader of the Church he would work to ensure that the legacy of the late apostle was preserved. He said under no circumstances would the sound doctrine entrusted to the Church be compromised.
On his vision for the Association, he said his administration will, for the foreseeable future, focus on achieving five goals:
i) The continued spiritual development of the Church through an intensive programme of fasting-prayer.
ii) Church growth driven by ministerial visits and renewed evangelization in locations of existing Assemblies.
iii) The strengthening of Church structures in a broad-based administration in which the talents and gifts of all will be tapped for the common good.
iv) Improvement in Church infrastructure across the board.

He acknowledged that although challenges lay ahead of the Association and his leadership, with Christ as his strength victory was assured. He said his leadership would be characterized by what he termed ‘servant leadership’ epitomized by the Lord Jesus Christ.
Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr ended his speech with an invocation of the priestly blessing in Numbers 6:24-26.
