Barren Rejoice!

By Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr

(Sabbath Sermon, 19th October, 2013)

From Nothing to Life and Abundance

It’s ageless past. What will later be called the universe is a vast empty space. Nothing moves. Nothing breathes. It’s total silence. You could hear a pin drop! Suddenly from nowhere comes a jangling crashing sound, lights flash across in an iridescent display of brightness.  A mighty voice has roared across the vast emptiness of time ‘Let there be’! Giant luminous orbs appear in the atmosphere, earth appears, light appears, sea is formed out of earth, vegetation appear, sea life appear, animals appear. Man appears made in the likeness of God Almighty.

The emptiness is bustling with life and goodness. The voice of the Creator has replaced nothingness with fullness, nonexistence with abundance of life. He will always be God:

Be Strong in the Lord

In the build-up to a full-blown war, psychological warfare—or war of words—can be a very deadly weapon. When used effectively, it not only saps the confidence of combatants, but it can actually condition them into thinking that they are no match for the enemy, that they are finished.

In our spiritual struggle with Stan, we must not be unnerved by satanic propaganda. When he talks to undermine our faith, we must talk back to him as Jesus did in Matt. 4. By so doing, we will overcome him by “the sword of the Spirit” which is the Word of God (Eph. 6:17).

Believers, the Fortified House of God

By: Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr.

(Sabbath Sermon)

Oftentimes, as we are beset with the storms of life and satanic threats, we lose sight of the incredible power we have with God as believers; yes, we lose sight of the unique position in which God has placed us.

We forget that we are the Temple/House of God—and that speaks volumes about what we have become! Our blood-washed, purified human bodies are now the House of the very Creator of the universe and His Son Yeshua (1 John 1:7; Acts 20:28; 1 Cor. 6:19).

The Power of His Name

By: Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr

(Sabbath Sermon)

A name is one of the first possessions of man. And it does more than confer a distinguishing title on an individual.

A name often invests a person with character (attributes) and, as appropriate, authority or possession. In this life, a title or designation of power such as ‘president’ can make a huge difference in the lifestyle of an individual.

The situation is no different in the Bible. Names are often symbols of mission, power or authority. For example, in reflection of Abraham’s divinely given role as ‘the father of many nations’, his name was changed from Abram (‘exalted father’)  to Abraham in Genesis 17:5. And many more Biblical examples exist.

GROWING INTO FRUITFULNESS

By Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr

(Sabbath Sermon, 12 April, 2008 )

As every parent will testify, one of the delights of parenthood is to watch your infant of yesterday grow up and begin to live a more independent life.

You watch with delight as your child takes his first faltering steps, starts to run around and begins to string words together. Before long, he’s jabbering out some coherent sentences.

The baby babble is over, and he has been weaned off the breast milk too. Your child is growing up. From child, he will soon go through his teens and then reach adulthood.
